International Trade Club Breakfast Meeting - 4th March 2010- 0800-1030 hrs

The internet has no boundaries, and it is not complicated to reach out to a wider market. The presentation looked at good website design, the importance of website optimisation and how to do it, whether you're trying to reach a home market or the customer overseas. Also provided was useful advice on getting it right when selling online internationally which highlighted some of the key things you need to think about.
Are you exporting goods that can be classed as dual-use items or associated technology and software that can be used for civil or military purposes. This brief overview explained dual-use items and provided companies with the tools to ensure you are trading safely with the licensing regulations. Guidance was also provided on the process and application of a licence.
Keeping abreast of technology, we demonstrated the e-Cert facility for exporters and highlighted the simplicity, accuracy and speed of obtaining certified documentation from the Chamber of Commerce. A live demonstration highlighted the quick and efficient use of the shortcut tools available on the system.
