This morning event was planned to give companies an insight into entering the Chinese market, which can seem somewhat daunting. There are many things to consider ranging from business culture and language through to local standards and regulations.  China has experienced rapid economic growth which has resulted in many opportunities in virtually every sector.

Guest speakers addressed the Chinese economy and in particular what trading opportunities exist for small, British companies. This was an excellent opportunity to meet and learn from the experts and network with local companies who have successfully developed business with China.

About the speakers and organisations:

Vince Cunningham - Business Adviser for the North of England with the China-Britain Business Council.   Vince has managed factory projects in China and worked with Chinese partners to sell British technology.  Since 2006 he has helped businesses of all types in the North of England to enter and develop the Chinese market.

Dr. Kegang Wu - Chief China Adviser of the British Chambers of Commerce and Managing Director of ChinaDirect UK Ltd.   Dr. Wu is known in the UK for his independent international market advice and negotiation service with a 10 years track record in facilitating profitable and successful UK-China projects, in areas of international partnership, import & outsourcing, manufacturing, market strategy, joint ventures in China and Chinese investment in the UK.
