Lancashire International Trade Event

Article Date: 05 June 2009

Who should attend

Directors, senior managers and sales executives involved in business expansion and international trade. The briefing will assume you are trading or are interested in trading overseas.
Synopsis
A truly global recession has not been manifest since the Great Depression of the 1930s. As UK Business battles on to survive and beat the downturn, exporting goods and services could help to overcome the hardship of recession.  On the back of a weaker pound there has been a significant increase in exports. Through its long history of international trade, the UK has developed a tradition of openness, flexibility and free trade – making it an ideal hub for cross-border trading.
With its cultural diversity and wealth of experience in manufacturing, retail, ICT, tourism, agriculture and the provision of services - Lancashire should be at the forefront of international trade. Through innovative concepts and ideas, entrepreneurship and hard work, and good practical advice – there is no reason why Lancashire Businesses cannot succeed in business overseas and take advantage of international markets.

Delegates will learn about:

·    The benefits of trading overseas
·    The help available to start and increase international trade
·    Key tax aspects of trading overseas
·    Advice on legal issues
·    Protecting intellectual property
·    Shipping & investment in the Gulf
·    Investment opportunities
Delegates can also take part in a question and answer session with an expert panel, ‘one-to-one’ sessions with the experts, and other networking opportunities.
