New source of support for British companies

The following opportunities have been identified by the Overseas Business Network Initiative (OBNi). The OBNi is a new source of support for British companies seeking to do business in 41 high-growth, difficult to access markets across the world. It provides a range of services that are complementary to those already provided by UK Trade and Investment. It is being developed through a partnership between UKTI, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the British Chambers of Commerce.

  • Services, support and advice in 41 markets overseas
  • Intelligence on new business opportunities
  • Office space in British Business Centres in some countries
  • A global British business network, operating at home and overseas.

Opportunities.

A Singaporean based buyer with three major showrooms throughout Singapore is interested in importing:

  • British paintings and Sculptures which he can display and sell alongside his luxury furniture in his showrooms.
  • High end luxury British Wall papers – must be UK manufactured.
  • High end luxury British Furniture – must be made in the UK and be of a high quality. The company are looking for a UK wide manufacturers of bedroom, living room and dining room furniture ranges.

The OBNi contact is the CEO of a leading furniture company in Singapore with 3 major show rooms. He has exclusive rights for two large brands but wants to expand his range he also specialises in Korean wallpapers but also wants to expand. This is all high quality products for Singapore’s affluent growing middle and upper classes.

Food and Drink Opportunities.

A restaurant is creating pretty inventive dishes in Singapore. They are looking to expand the number of products they sources from the UK, both food and drink. They are particularly looking for high end & high quality produce with a story.
