New Name, New Brand for long established Insurance Business

Article Date: 20 November 2012

A new brand for a long established insurance broking business is set to be launched in the business heart of Preston.

Sentinel Corporate Risk will be officially launched in late October and is the culmination of a buyout of Taylor Patterson Corporate Insurance from the Taylor Patterson Group led by two directors of the business, Robert Cholmondeley and Peter Millington.

The move will see Robert and Peter, supported by 6 team members, service clients across the north of England, providing insurance and risk management services for businesses, property owners, high net worth individuals and companies involved in the import and export market.

Taylor Patterson Group will continue to provide financial planning, investment advice and pension provision through Taylor Patterson Financial Planning and Taylor Patterson Associates. Both Taylor Patterson Group and Sentinel will continue to provide their respective services to existing joint Clients.

Cholmondeley who has worked at Taylor Patterson for 25 years, said ‘The buyout is an exciting move, and we are looking to establish the business and new branding from our new offices in Camden Place. We are taking our hugely experienced team with us, and by continuing to apply the levels of professionalism and client care that are the foundation of Taylor Patterson culture, we will continue to advise and protect our clients’ businesses when it matters’.

Millington, who joined Taylor Patterson from Allianz, where he was regional development manager added: ‘Establishing Sentinel as a stand alone business during one of the worst recessions in UK history is going to provide an extra challenge. However, we have good staff, a proven track record and this together with our expertise and knowledge of the market place makes us extremely confident about the future of the business.’

The two directors will be joined by Joanne Bramley, Sanchia Crossley, Mike Rooke, James Fairclough, Helen Proctor and Annette O’Brien. The newly named company will continue with its prestigious Chartered Insurance Broker status which demonstrates a commitment to customer excellence and professionalism.

Legal advice on the buyout and establishment of a new shareholding structure was provided by David Filmer, head of mergers and acquisitions, at Harrison Drury Solicitors.
