East Lancashire Export Awards 2008

The International Trade Club (formerly the East Lancs Export Club) are now accepting company entries for the East Lancashire Export Awards, and the categories are:-
 

  • Entering New Export Markets
  • Increasing Export Sales

The Awards will be presented at the annual Gala Luncheon to be held at Mercure Dunkenhalgh Hotel & Spa, Blackburn Road, Clayton-le-Moors, BB5 5JP on Friday 12th December 08. 

Ed Murphy, Chair of the International Trade Club, said: “These Awards recognise and promote the quality, diversity and ingenuity of local, successful exporters.  The Awards enable us to salute some of East Lancashires best companies and most talented people, giving them the recognition they deserve”.

Last year’s winner’s included:

The Award for Increase in Exports – won by REM Ltd. REM’s Export Sales Director Neil Hall, said that: ‘This is a terrific award to win and we are very proud of our achievements. It will boost the push and enthusiasm of all our workers, and I am going to place it where everyone can see it and know that they have taken part in helping us win it.’

The Award for Entering New Markets – was won by Metals UK of Blackburn.  Louise Child Lee Nicklin commented: ‘From the start our MD’s vision was to build a world-class distribution company. We now export to over 40 countries worldwide with our main export market being Europe where we have recently opened a €3.5 million+ operations facility. Further afield we have also opened a fully functioning utility in Mumbai. We have fantastic people working for us and we will continue to expand and grow.’

The event includes Christmas Reception, Award Presentation, 3-Course Lunch, Demonstration of kickboxing by British Champion Jason Curtis, Prize Draw and the chance to talk to others engaged in international trade activities.
