Useful Contacts for Exporters

Article Date: 30 March 2012

The East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce was pleased to invite UK Trade and Investment to present their services and to help with local businesses increasing their contacts this week by bringing together the cream of Lancashire’s international trade business community.

Attendee’s included local start up businesses with high international growth potential, established exporters looking for new opportunities, and organisations servicing the International Trade business community. The event reinforced East Lancs Chamber’s commitment to strengthen and support local business success.

This Peer-to-Peer exporting event proved to be the ideal place to meet like minded people, exchange contacts, views, advice, tips and experiences. Delegates had the chance to talk to professionals from various sectors, all of whom had the skills, experience and other contacts that were invaluable.

Presentations included International Market Research, Overseas Etiquette, Government Support for Exporters and a case study from local company What More UK Ltd. Ed Murphy International Trade and Training Director from the East Lancs Chamber of Commerce commented “North west companies, especially manufacturers, are increasingly looking to overseas markets to win more and better orders. For many companies this is the obvious path to growth, and their combined success is a major factor in growing the UK economy, protecting existing UK jobs and creating new one’s.

The East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce International Trade Team has a long history of providing an extensive range of very effective support to companies and was pleased to showcase the amazing export success of a local company manufacturing a wide range of high quality plastic containers. Tony Grimshaw, What More UK Ltd Director eloquently and modestly explained how they had started exporting and now successfully exports to 52 countries around the world just four years later!”
