Dangerous Goods Regulations Updates and Driver CPC - 21st October 2010, 0800–1030

Any goods that pose a risk to people, property and the environment are classified as dangerous goods and are assigned to different classes ranging from 1 to 9. The transport of dangerous goods is regulated in order to prevent, as far as possible, accidents involving people or property also damage to the evironment.  Each mode of transport, (air, sea, road, rail and inland waterway) has its own regulations but they are now largely harmonized with the Model Regulations.

What will be covered: 

The presentation will cover all the recent changes to the regulations governing transport of dangerous goods. This will include examination of ADR, IMDG and IATA publications and will cover areas such as:-
 

  • Updated regulatory framework
  • New classification procedures
  • Excepted and Limited quantity    markings
  • Environmental markings
  • GHS labels
  • Tunnel Codes
  • Driver Training
  • Vehicle loading checks
  • Penalty notices
  • Security issues

Bonus Feature:  Driver CPC  

The Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for Drivers is a compulsory requirement for all Passenger Vehicle Drivers from 10/09/2008 and for Road Haulage Drivers from 10/09/2009. This is now more complex and rigorous than ever before and requires a broader level of knowledge and understanding.

Additionally, the regulations on Driver CPC will be explained and any questions relating to training provision will be covered.
